PD Sr Engineer - Customer support and Design support

PURPOSE OF POSITION


Manage a team for Customer support, Engineering support and improvements covering overall product lifecycle management.

Along with managing team, position will have responsibility to work on some projects on their own

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for MSBU growth through effective new productintroductions, improvements and support covering overall product lifecycle management. (VOC, FEA, answer to inquiry, etc.)

  • Responsible for maintain MSBU products to ensure long-term profitability.

  • Responsible for improving the design capability of MSBU PDs.

  • Responsible for shorten development and design lead time, and does not miss the timing of new product introduction to the market.

  • Build culture of domain expertise, collaboration and team work in team.

  • Responsible to bring in transformation in product or process.

  • Responsible for creating culture of sense of urgency in answering customers queries and develop process to meet business needs.

  • Assess and help develop technologies that support future bets.

  • Support Make it easy initiatives.

  • Help in developing new capabilities within team. Align quickly to MSBU vision.

  • Support all company focal points as required.

  • Participate in GLSS activities wherever assigned.

  • Any other projects/work assigned by management.

  • Hire, assign, manage, develop, train and metor members to support MSBU vision.

  • Responsible for optimally managing resources, people development (skill and competencies) and creating value to MSBU

  • Goal deployment & performance appraisals for the team members.

  • Ensure team provides accurate data for SAP and work with PM for improving continuously.

  • Ensure team compliance with all Molex Policies and procedures.

Qualification: Graduate in Mechanical Engineering

  • Broad knowledge of connector design, development and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent analytic and problem solving skills. (Critical Thinking and Creative)
  • Strong Project management skills (Plan Development & Execution)
  • Strong Leadership ability coupled with tactical mangement
  • Excellent People Management and development skills (Learning, Mentoring & Development Focused)
  • Knowledge on IATF16949 / FMEA / Control Plan / APQP / MSA.
  • Thorough understanding of application of TOPS/ SPC/GLSS Principles.
  • Working knowledge of SAP Modules.
  • Good understanding of budgeting process requirments.
  • Strong Communication and presentation skills.
  • Capable of creative thinking and structural design
  • Must have English / Nice to have Japanese.
