Safety Monitor

Join our team, at our Building Products facility, in Dudley, NC, as a Safety Monitor and have the opportunity to communicate safety requirements and ensure adherence throughout the facility. This role also serves as a focal point in the facility for all Health & Safety related questions, concerns, activities and/or needs.

Starting wage is $17.25 per hour with paid vacation days starting day one! Our Safety Monitors work any shift, weekends, holidays and overtime as required by shift schedule.

The Dudley facility is one of Georgia-Pacific’s largest Building Products facilities and it manufactures Plytanium® Plywood, AC and BC, Sidings and Sturd-I-Floor® Plytanium® Plywood which is used in sheathing, roof decking, sub flooring and other specialty applications.

What You Will Do In Your Role

·Inspect, observe, and audit the application of work tasks against defined company procedures, policies, and conditions of the working environment

·Engage workers that are performing tasks unsafely and mentor them in the correct measures or practices to ensure that they are working with safely.

·Spend extended periods of time in the facility observing tasks and conditions which includes climbing stairs and ladders as needed

·Provide safety support for down days/outages

·Support the Safety Department by assisting in records management, data collection, monthly safety training, lock out/tag out (LOTO), safe work permit records and necessary follow-up

·Gather and reporting key performance metrics

·Assist in maintaining required health and safety recordkeeping and reporting processes

·Coordinate/facilitate the completion of monthly EHS safety training.

·Assist employees in performing Key Control Audits and subsequent corrective actions

·Support risk assessment processes (PPE, moving equipment, pedestrian safety, etc.)

·Participate on the facility safety committee

The Experience You Will Bring

·High School Diploma or GED

·At least two (2) years of office, administrative or safety work

·Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel (data analysis/manipulation, formula creation), and PowerPoint (presentation creation/editing)

What Will Put You Ahead

·Knowledge in health and safety is strongly desired; (OSHA 30 Hour Industrial certification preferred).
