Flint Hills Resources is seeking a Fuels Compliance Regulatory Specialist in Wichita, KS to join the Fuels Compliance Capability Team within the Quality & Compliance Group. The Fuels Compliance Capability Team oversees the implementation of systems, processes, and tools to ensure compliance with the federal and state motor fuel regulatory requirements relative to the production and distribution of motor fuels. A successful candidate must have strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

What You Will Do In Your Role

Assist the Fuels Compliance Manager with the routine operations of the Compliance System, including:

  • Acting as the functional backup for the Fuels Compliance Manager
  • Managing the Fuels Compliance audit and assessment Program
  • Managing the Fuels Compliance employee training program
  • Preparing or overseeing the preparation of Fuels Compliance government reports
  • Shepherding the Fuels Compliance change management process
  • Providing analytical support to the Quality & Compliance Group Leadership

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • 1+ years’ experience working with federal or state regulations
  • Experience conducting or assisting with audits for compliance with federal or state regulations

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Degree or experience in a Technical Field
  • Knowledge of Flint Hills Resources Refinery, Terminal, and Ethanol Plant Operations
  • Experience interpreting, applying, and communicating the EPA’s Fuel & Fuel Additive Regulations, Renewable Fuel Standard, California Low Carbon Fuel Standard, and other federal and state greenhouse gas-related programs.
  • Experience conducting training classes
