The Global Gas business within KM&T specializes in trading LNG, Natural Gas, Power and Renewables. Primarily trading from London and Geneva, this role provides the incumbent with a unique opportunity to join this dynamic and ever-changing business.
The Product Control Analyst will work closely with the European Power, Nat Gas & LNG traders and fellow CFO team members. The Product Control Analyst will play an active role within Koch Minerals & Trading and the position will provide the individual with an opportunity to grow within the organization through developing/ providing robust and insightful P&L analysis and decision support material combined with driving efficiencies through automating existing processes within the group.
What You Will Do In Your Role
- Report independent P&L & exposure daily whilst challenging traders on their own assessments
- Build out reporting tools including attribution analysis
- Develop insightful and value-added analysis for commercial and senior management decision making & reporting
- Improve and automate existing processes
- Perform daily pricing checks and submit independent end of month price validations
- Design and implement robust control processes, workflows, and checks
- Reconcile month-end general ledger P&L to trading risk system P&L
- Complete month end balance sheet/inventory reconciliations
- Preparation of blotters for complex transactions
- Ensuring compliance with control policies and trading standards including development and management of key business metrics
- Partner operations and front office with position reporting, trade valuation and other ad hoc requests
- Project work including system upgrades and associated testing
- Co-ordinating & supporting projects targeting business expansion into new structures, products, commodities or geographies or business improvements
- CXL expert user providing guidance on deal capture and modelling of complex transactions & formulas
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering etc
- High level of proficiency in Excel
- Proficiency in R, Python, SQL, VBA or other programming languages
- Proven experience in Global Gas markets, particularly European
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proactive and team- oriented nature
- Good communication skills
