Georgia-Pacific is looking for a Logistics Leader for our Dixie® facility in Darlington, SC. Darlington is a historic town with beautiful parks, a downtown public square and a number of recreation opportunities. Darlington is close to Myrtle Beach and Charleston, SC in addition to Southeastern cities such as Charlotte and Raleigh, NC. Nearby colleges and universities to Darlington include Clemson, Florence-Darlington Technical College, and University of South Carolina.

What You Will Do In Your Role
- Perform and supervise logistics operational tasks in support of a large manufacturing facility.
- Direct transportation activities including procurement, tender and cost management for truck and rail to meet mill and customer’ service needs.
- Ensure overall facility compliance with transportation rules and regulations
- Identify, validate, and lead continuous improvement projects for logistics that ultimately provide the business with a competitive advantage in marketplace.
- Lead the logistics department and support mill quality initiatives.
- Use economic thinking to analyze data and make recommendations to mill management, corporate logistics and other internal customers to make solid business decisions.
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain, transportation or logistics
- Vendor management experience
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (document creation), Excel (spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (email and calendar)
What Will Put You Ahead
- Transportation/logistics experience (truck or rail)
- Supervisory experience
- Knowledge of transportation rules and regulations concerning hazardous and non-hazardous materials handling and shipping
