The Laboratory Analyst at FHR’s Pine Bend Refinery in Rosemount, Minnesota, is responsible for ensuring that all laboratory data is safely generated in an accurate, precise, and timely manner. The core competencies required for this role involve the proper execution of analytical methods and procedures, attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and a general understanding of laboratory operations and best practices. The ideal candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills, planning and prioritization skills, and the ability to communicate effectively. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Performing analysis, recording data, and reviewing results. Test quality assurance samples for Lab analysis using ASTM, EPA, & FHR methods and procedures 
  • Developing technical knowledge around the operation of the analytical instrumentation.
  • Adhering to all safety practices, test methods, and data handling procedures.
  • Interfacing with customers within the organization to understand business needs and communicate results.
  • Work Environment: Laboratory Analysts work on a team to meet the expectations of our internal and external customers. Normal work schedule is a 12-hour rotating schedule.

Competitive Pay and Benefits Package: Starting hourly pay begins at $30.93 per hour. Fully Qualified Laboratory Analysts at Pine Bend are compensated at $45.04 per hour.

The Experience You Will Bring


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least 2 years in a lab environment. (Example of companies and industries include: Inspection Companies, Medical/hospital labs, Chemical manufacturing, Pharmaceutical companies, Metallurgy Water or Waste Water Treatment facilities, or labs Environmental Labs )

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Previous work experience in a refinery or industrial lab environment
  • Laboratory skills certification or natural sciences degree from an accredited institution
