Production Worker

Georgia-Pacific is seeking Production Workers for its Oriented Strand Board (OSB) facility located in Alcolu, SC.

This position is responsible for operating equipment to produce and maintain quality of the product and meet customer expectation which requires working 12 rotating shifts holidays, weekends and overtime as needed. Workers may work in various departments within the mill – including Dryer & Energy, Press, and Finishing.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Operate manufacturing equipment to produce and maintain quality of the product and meet customer expectations.
  • Work in team-based environment. Communicating effectively and respectfully with other team members.
  • Learn new tasks (including functions in control cab, control room, and ground support) and become proficient in performing these tasks.
  • Operate Control Room panels, displays and graphics to maintain operations according to parameters. Monitor system performance to meet targets.
  • Provide ground support for production area.
  • Learn and comply with environmental guidelines, policies, and permit requirements.
  • Operate mobile equipment to include a front-end loader, sweeper, forklift and manlift as well as air hoses, shovels, rakes, saws, and other tools.
  • Maintain a strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include safety equipment, i.e.: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed boots and other PPE as required by specific job
  • Perform tasks such as lift up to 50 pounds, walk, climb, stoop, stand, push and/or pull for up to 12 hours a day in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment

The Experience You Will Bring


What Will Put You Ahead

  • At least one (1) year of machine operating experience
  • At least three (3) years of industrial or manufacturing experience
  • Experience operating mobile equipment.
  • Experience working in computer-controlled environment.
  • Experience in control cab operations.

  • Collaborate effectively and efficiently with all team members
  • Demonstrate initiative and high attention to detail
