Maintenance Supervisor I & E

Based in Brandon, Manitoba, we synthesize and blend nitrogen, phosphate, and sulfur products with ammonia, which we market primarily in the prairie provinces of Canada and the northern United States. MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR, INSTRUMENTATION & ELECTRICAL
Koch Fertilizer Canada, ULC is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to join the Maintenance team to contribute to the organization’s value creation capabilities.This role offers a fast-paced working environment and opportunities for career development within our growing organization 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Oversee the performance, training and safe conduct of the the Instrumentation and Electrical team
  • Be instrumental in developing and maintaining the highest levels of safety within the department
  • Be responsible for maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in applicable work areas
  • Establish and maintain maintenance records, input requisitions for supplies including tools, materials and equipment
  • Assist in creation and revision of policies and procedures relative to the department
  • Assist in preparing maintenance reports and preventative maintenance programs for all I&E Maintenance equipment
  • Ensure that maintenance information is maintained and entered into the CMMS system including hours to perform the work; involved with planning high priority work
  • Manage work order backlogs to maintain acceptable levels
  • Develop and maintain schedules, both on-call and vacations
  • Consult with Plant Leadership team and interact with other departments as required
  • Demonstrate initiative, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Perform detailed tasks with satisfactory attitude and job performance
  • Demonstrate organization and time management skills with a high level of integrity and professionalism
  • Demonstrate Strong analytical, critical, economic thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer

Other Considerations: 

  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work at heights
  • Pass a pulmonary breathing test
  • Ability to wear a gas mask-type respirator and PPE
  • Tolerance to occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles and toxic/caustic chemicals with appropriate PPE
  • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Availability for flexible hours based on job requirements
  • Unassisted physical mobility in and around plant and equipment
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel as necessary
  • Ability to travel to and enter site to access equipment
  • 5% travel, including air

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • At least five (5) years of maintenance supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized, industrial setting
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (ie. GED)
  • Experience in industrial maintenance with a good understanding of mechanical equipment and reliability programs
  • Experience in operating maintenance systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Valid class five (5) driver's license

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Interprovincial red seal Electrical, or Instrumentation certification or other related red seal certification
