Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist for their Albany/Eugene Chemical facilities. The selected candidate can sit in either Albany, OR or Atlanta, GA.
What You Will Do In Your Role
- Manage customer orders and schedule customer deliveries utilizing our ERP systems.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturing, carriers, sales, and customers.
- Execute rail and truck logistics and process customer orders for the Albany and Eugene Chemical facilities accurately.
- Execute payment processes with 3rd party carriers and ensure payments are processed timely.
- Ability to manage customer inventories by using our customer inventory tool.
- Assist with the execution of customer order and logistics initiatives.
- Successfully multitask in a changing work environment. Adapt while encouraging others to adapt to continuous changing processes and customer requirements.
- Act as a principled entrepreneur by identifying process improvements, service trends, and cost savings opportunities.
- Identify and encourage the application of best practices across the business.
- Serve as a backup for Mississippi and Arkansas chemical plant operations.
- Actively participate in plant safety programs/committee and foster a safety and compliance culture.
- Employee must be comfortable working Pacific Standard Time business hours.
- The plants operate 24/7 365. After hour, weekend, and holiday calls are expected and required to be handled.
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Associates Degree or higher with two (2) or more years of leadership, transportation, logistics, customer service or supply chain experience OR in lieu of a degree, four (4) or more years of leadership, business, logistics, customer service or supply chain experience.
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc
- Available for occasional travel up to 10% of the time (travel during training period could be ~50% - 75%).
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain.
- Experience using a Transportation Management System.
- Knowledge of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system such as Infor, SAP, or similar system.
- Previous experience dispatching and/or supervising drivers.
- Knowledge of ELD systems and transportation regulations (hours of service, mandatory breaks, electronic logs, etc.)
- Experience working directly with customers.
