Description
Georgia-Pacific is currently hiring for a Quality Technician at our Huntsville, AL corrugated packaging facility. We are seeking a dynamic team member to develop and help optimize our equipment to better meet and anticipate our customers’ needs. Quality Technicians interact with leadership team, facility employees, and customers to ensure a high quality and safe work environment.

What You Will Do In Your Role
- Analyze facts and data to identify root cause and implement sustainable solutions to resolve quality issues
- Review of quality information and input into the quality systems
- Interface with customers to ensure GP is exceeding their quality expectations
- Reinforce the Blue Diamond Quality Manufacturing expectations
- Ensure vendors are meeting our material specifications
- Interpret the information given and be able to produce an effective root cause and corrective action
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement to improve process control, quality yields and reduce defects
- Track, monitor and report to management on quality performance
- Product stewardship including adherence of the British Retail Consortium (BRC) program
- Present clear and concise corrective actions for customers
- Champion Product Stewardship Food Safety process
- Exhibit strong problem solving, decision making and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Fostering and developing culture based on our Market Based Management (MBM®) Philosophy
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- A minimum (1) one year of quality or process improvement experience
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or other technical discipline
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience within the Corrugated packaging industry
- A minimum of one (1) year in statistical analysis (training and/or education)
- Six Sigma training
