If so, check out what we have to offer! Georgia-Pacific in Prosperity, SC has an immediate need for Forklift Operators to work in a variety of departments within the mill. This facility offers promotional and overtime opportunities.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Safely operate up to a 30k lb. forklift in transportation of lumber
  • Comply with environmental requirements
  • Work as a team to meet safety, production, and quality goals
  • Contribute to a team environment by cross training and filling in for other operators during absences and breaks
  • Perform housekeeping functions to aid in keeping machinery functioning properly, reducing hazards, and maintaining the appearance of the plant
  • Complete and maintaining all daily inspections and downtime reports
  • Push/pull/lift 50lbs multiple times a shift (anywhere from 50-100 times)
  • Work cooperatively and productively with supervisors, co-workers, and other associates to complete tasks
  • Troubleshoot problems with proven results that make a positive impact to the business
  • Work any shift, holidays, weekends and overtime as necessary
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include safety equipment, i.e.: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed boots and other PPE as required by specific job
  • Work in a sometimes hot, cold, dusty and noisy industrial environment
  • Obtain a mobile equipment license and operate mobile equipment
  • Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to 12 hours
  • The Experience You Will Bring

    Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 6 months of experience operating a forklift in an industrial/manufacturing, industrial, construction, farming or warehouse environment
  • What Will Put You Ahead

  • One (1) year or more of experience driving a 10 - 30K lb. forklift within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Forklift Certification
  • Computer skills 
  • Work experience in a wood products manufacturing environment
