We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Koch Specialty Plant Services team in Houston, TX.  This role will drive value by owning the month end close process to include project accounting,  balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports as well as analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. 

A successful individual for this role must have excellent leadership and communication skills, strong analytical and critical thinking skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities and a desire to drive process improvements. This individual will focus on providing a high level of customer focus and value creation for our businesses.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Lead accounting capability in delivering optimized and profitable services in the areas of accounts receivable, accounts payable and revenue recognition.
  • Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports including reporting for month end close.
  • Preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual entries, reconciliations, tax and audit templates and financial/governmental/management reporting.
  • Perform variance analysis for project profitability, advanced customer billings and revenue accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Sustain strong internal financial control environment in compliance with the KII Internal Financial Control Standards.
  • Proactively identify and drive improvements in the areas of internal controls, financial systems and business processes.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of Accounting experience
  • 2+ years of Supervisory experience
  • 5+ years of experience using ERP systems
  • 3+ years experience utilizing MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) and Access in a working environment

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience working with a construction services company
  • Experience using the Infor LN ERP system
  • Experience with job costing and percent of completion
