Phillips-Medisize, a Molex Company is an end-to-end provider of innovation, development and manufacturing solutions to the pharmaceutical, diagnostics and medical device industries. Our Menomonie, Wisconsin location is seeking a Toolroom Manager to support manufacturing operations.

The Toolroom Manager will support manufacturing in the effort to Coordinate the workflow, activities, and personnel in the toolroom and mold maintenance departments. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Provide direction and leadership to the tooling department including people management as follows:managing performance; addressing disciplinary issues; hiring; assisting people with career development; communicating information to direct reports, passing information up the management chain and fostering open communication; ensuring team is aligned with and accomplishing goals/objectives; administrative processing; and, maintaining trust and confidentiality while fostering a team environment
  • Prioritize workflow to meet or exceed customer expectations (internal and external customers)
  • Budget responsibilities for the tooling department
  • Coordinate mold revisions and repairs with outside vendors when resources limit available action in-house
  • Requisition tool room supplies and equipment
  • Ensure that molds are properly cleaned, lubricated, assembled, and staged for production
  • Coordinate team’s continuous improvement efforts
  • Ensure the mold storage system is organized and updated
  • Critical tooling spares inventory management
  • Drive new tooling improvements and support incoming mold review prior to sampling
  • Evaluate new mold performance in production
  • Other duties as assigned

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in machine tooling or similar discipline; or equivalent mix of education and experience
  • Minimum four (4) years’ experience in a tool room environment, with experience in multiple facets of tool room activities
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience leading people

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong working knowledge of plastic injection molds
  • Demonstrable mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
