Molex is seeking a dynamic and proactive Interconnect Technology Manager to lead our High-Speed Coaxial Crimp Technology team to develop product specifications and manufacturing processes for the large pipeline of new products we are bringing to market. This is an opportunity to utilize the skills and experiences as a leader and collaborator. This position is to lead a newly formed design and manufacturing development team and lab, to develop crimp termination solutions for our high-speed coaxial interconnect products.
The Interconnect Technology Manager will oversea development and manufacturing partners that design and build our automotive electronic products. This person will lead a cross functional team that is responsible for developing product termination specifications with reliable and repeatable manufacturing processes for our production facilities. The Manager will launch a robust manufacturing process capable of meeting our customers’ requirements. This role will require the ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into proven product and process specifications to internal teams and manufacturing plants.
What You Will Do In Your Role
Manage a crimp termination development lab with initial focus on our high speed automotive coax connector and cable assembly solutions
Drive engagement with productions site business leaders to collaborate in manufacturing initiatives that foster goal achievement for current and future business needs
Establish and implement team strategies, programs and practices to achieve world class manufacturing process
Responsible for preparing process specifications, project planning, technical problem solving, process engineering, defect reduction, quality engineering, including improvement activities, requirements compliance, and customer interface.
Build technical and communication bridges between suppliers and internal engineering teams
Liaison between internal cross functional teams
Provide technical leadership to a team of subject matter experts; Supervise the development of product and process specifications
Use a data driven mindset to provide rapid design and process solutions for our high speed coaxial product and manufacturing teams
Develop and implement methods for designing and documenting reliable product & process termination solutions for implementation in product and production solutions
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Experience leading a cross functional engineering team, capable of establishing credibility, mutual respect, and authority within the functional groups
8+ years of experience of product development experience in interconnect technologies
Proven knowledge, experience and capabilities developing interconnect solutions for high speed coaxial cables
Proven knowledge, experience and capabilities developing crimp termination solutions for high speed coaxial connectors
Strong knowledge of cable assembly manufacturing processes
Ability to understand customer technical needs, specifications and advanced automotive architecture and effectively provide solutions to both the customer and present these opts to Molex Business Unit
Must have knowledge of statistical analysis tools and six sigma techniques
Must be able to travel up to 20%, including potential international travel
Strong knowledge of high-speed electrical characteristics in connectors
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience developing high speed interconnect products for automotive applications
- Strong understanding of crimp termination processes, especially with coaxial wires
- Good understanding of different types of cable assembly processes
