Molex is seeking a dynamic and driven Materials Manager to join our talented team. The Materials Manager and their team are responsible for managing the materials sourcing, planning, purchasing, and inventory control, receiving, warehouse, and shipping functions in an efficient and cost-effective manner. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • The Materials Manager will manage, coordinate, and expedite flow of materials, parts and assemblies from suppliers and among departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules, warehousing and shipping to customers. The Materials Manager will report to the Plant Manager.
  • The Materials Manager will have full ownership of, and accountability for all purchasing, planning and inventory control activities and metrics as well as on-time delivery to our customers. 
  • Manage personnel engaged in production scheduling, purchasing, shipping, receiving and distributing materials, equipment and supplies
  • Prepare instructions regarding purchasing, planning and inventory control systems and procedures as well as continuous improvement plans.
  • Evaluate vendor quotations utilizing appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure optimum quality, price, delivery and service
  • Design, implement, manage and monitor procurement, planning and inventory control reporting systems to meet plant requirements
  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy
  • Oversee all activities related to procurement of materials, from intent to purchase through delivery of materials
  • Collaborate with other plants and commodity team leaders for initiatives and other priorities
  • Develop and maintain high level contact with key suppliers and service personnel
  • Assist in supply chain cost reduction initiatives
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop and sit.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 30lbs. on occasion

                        The Experience You Will Bring

                        Requirements:

                        • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering

                        • 7+ years of progressive materials management experience in manufacturing; preferably electronics or automotive manufacturing
                        • Must have inventory control, production and planning experience
                        • Proficiency in and the ability to model and implement the following concepts: empowerment and teamwork; kaizen; standardized work; PDCA and problem solving; 5S; quality improvement tools; JIT production tools including: Value Stream Mapping, lead-time reduction, process flow improvement, and Kanban
                        • Capable of identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner
                        • Able to develop and implement cost saving measures
                        • Ability to lead organizational change and employ an environment of continuous improvement
                        • SAP experience required

                          What Will Put You Ahead

                          • Experience in an electronics manufacturing or automotive environment
                          • Ability to solve practical problems with solutions that deal with multiple variables
                          • Demonstrated knowledge and broad understanding, through work experience and results, of materials management and its related outputs. Including supply, demand, capacity forecasting/planning and production scheduling.
                          • Ability to lead organizational change and employ an environment of continuous improvement
                          • APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) certification
