Georgia-Pacific is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator in Madera, CA. What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Collaborating with the EHS Manager in establishing Best Management Practices (BMP’s), safety policies and procedures, safety audits and plant EHS training
  • Assisting the EHS Manager with regulatory requirements relating to OSHA, RCRA, EPA, and DOT requirements
  • Conducting environmental and safety inspections including but not limited to: storm water, hazardous material, (Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) spill response and critical safety risks
  • Investigating and reporting incidents
  • Proactively maintain knowledge of current and emerging federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulatory requirements affecting the facility
  • Managing sensitive information
  • Managing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inventory
  • Providing quality control support as needed
  • Routinely work in a loud/noisy, hot, humid, dusty, greasy and high-volume environment
  • Occasionally lift and pull up to 50 pounds

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Two (2) or more years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Experience using and reading a tape measure, Ph meter, and scales for quality checks
  • Experience using root cause analysis
  • Previous experience in a safety, environmental and/or quality role
  • Two (2) year associate degree or higher
