Our Georgia-Pacific Foley Cellulose facility in Perry, FL is recruiting for an Manufacturing Engineer for the Pulping area. The Optimizer role is responsible for daily operations of the digesting, washing and screening area. This role works closely with the Asset availability leader, Reliability Coordinator and Maintenance operating team to prioritize the work to be scheduled, is responsible for the department’s maintenance and capital plan, and for managing the timely completion of safety work orders. A successful candidate will be a strong analytical and critical thinker with the ability to contribute to the improvement of the department and mill operations.
What You Will Do In Your Role
- Day to day optimization of the batch digesting, washing and screening area
- Ensuring overall compliance with GP safety and environmental requirements
- Facilitating development of a safety culture that results in zero injuries
- Providing technical support for maintenance planning and execution
- Working with area reliability coordinator, asset availability leader and maintenance to ensure equipment reliability
- Ensuring appropriate training is available for area operations
- Developing maintenance and capital plans to support mill operations
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or Industrial Manufacturing OR four or more years of unit operations experience within a chemical, petroleum or pulp mill environment
- Experience working with batch digesters
- Experience with MS Office Outlook (sending emails & scheduling appointment, Word (typing documents) and Excel (creating spreadsheets & entering data)
What Will Put You Ahead
- Four or more years of experience in pulp mill operations
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering
- Experience with Process Book software
- Experience with a distributed control system (DCS)
- Management experience of Chemical Process Safety (CPS) covered processes
