Plating Process Engineering Technician

1st Shift:  Monday-Friday 7:00 AM-3:30 PM

Join a dynamic team providing technical support in all facets of high speed Plating.  Will work closely with all other Plating team members including Operators, Process Engineers, Innovation Engineers, Quality and Vision Personnel,  Electrical Control Engineers, and Maintenance. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

Troubleshoot and resolve problems with all plating processes and support equipment.

Communicate technical issues with Plating Production, Process Engineering, Innovation Engineers, Quality Engineers, Vison System Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Maintenance personnel daily as needed.

Assist department engineers to ensure that the most robust and technically advanced processes are being introduced, developed, and incorporated into our production processes.

Actively participate in the new construction and modification of all plating equipment and processes.

Work closely with production Operators, Techs, and Engineers to optimize existing plating processes.

Maintain process spare parts by fabricating or purchasing.

Continually improve operational procedures, work instructions and processes.

Understand, support, and contribute to current Molex Safety, Quality and Environmental systems by closely following stated policies and procedures.

Develop process cost improvements and savings.

Update and maintain process documentation.

The Experience You Will Bring


Knowledge of materials, equipment, and their processing.

Ability to read and understand mechanical prints.

Must have strong mechanical abilities.

Must be proficient with metal lathes and mills.

Must be able to weld MIG, TIG, and Plastic.

Must have good written and oral communication skills.

Must have computer skills, such as MS word, excel, and AutoCAD

Must have effective inter-personal skills.

Ability to interact with all levels in the organization and outside vendors/customers.

Must have good organizational skills.

Must pay close attention to details.

What Will Put You Ahead

Technical degree in an Engineering related field.   

Knowledge of plating processes.
