Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Planner to join our Toledo Paper Mill in Toledo, Oregon. This role will support our business strategy through use of established maintenance scheduling and planning processes. This will be accomplished through the utilization of safe work practices and procedures, use of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), the planned work backlog, technical information and references, while utilizing Best Maintenance Practices and Precision Techniques.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Safe work execution through development of detailed Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) documentation and compliance with all Georgia-Pacific permitting and procedures
  • Learn and apply all aspects of Georgia-Pacific’s Asset Maintenance and Planning & Scheduling process
  • Create an environment that is safe and presents no hazards to self and colleagues
  • Conduct field walk downs to scope out all components necessary for successful work execution
  • Complete contract requisitions for contracted work when required and complete payment authorizations when jobs are complete
  • Work with Operations Team members to develop a prioritized and 100% resource loaded schedule to optimize internal resources
  • Support mill maintenance crews and contractors on maintenance shutdown days and annual outages
  • Update the information in the CMMS, such as Bills of Materials and specifications for ordering
  • Perform rotating weekend on-call duty for the entire mill and may spend time covering the duties of other E&I leaders 
  • Support and assist E&I Supervisor with daily and outage work lists
  • Utilize Microsoft Office suite and the computerized maintenance management system (Passport) extensively 
  • Demonstrate excellent organization, planning, and communication skills - both oral and written
  • Communicate extensively with crafts people, contractor representatives, and materials suppliers
  • Work unselfishly for the team and be self-disciplined 

The Experience You Will Bring


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a heavy industrial maintenance department or manufacturing facility
  • Three (3) or more years of E&I planning experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (i.e. 4site, SAP, Passport)

What Will Put You Ahead

  • An Associate Degree or higher
  • Oregon Electrical License
  • Experience in pulp and paper industry
  • Experience in an E&I maintenance supervisor or reliability role
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
