Sr Specialist, Sourcing

  • Leading sourcing activities and procurement support for manufacturing operation, collaborate with local Management, Division Category Managers and Division NPD Sourcing teams when required for the Global Consumer and Commercial Solution Product Division needs.  Establish and implement programs and initiatives to support the Division’s overall strategic sourcing objectives (e.g., competitive pricing, supply base consolidation, improve supplier management, and address needs of internal customers).

What You Will Do In Your Role

1.Supply Base Management: Overall responsible for identifying competitive supply sources in the market. Work with local management, Division Category Managers, Division NPD Management, Engineering, Quality and Operations to develop a preferred supply base and drive supplier consolidation. Drive the efforts to move business away from suppliers that are not preferred. Understand the right number of suppliers required. Minimize the amount of business with smaller suppliers or where the Molex spend is insignificant to achieve the most favourable support and terms & conditions from suppliers in the market

2.New Product and Transfer Product : Responsible for supporting new transfer products working closely with Division NPD team, Division Project Management team, Division Category Management and when needed Product Design team on materials needed to ensure smooth implementation in line with Division’s overall Sourcing strategies.

3.Supplier Selection & Approval: Lead the efforts towards the evaluation and selection of new suppliers for the entity. Drive cross functional teams in this undertaking using various resources on and as needed basis. Active participation in understanding and meeting the new products component/raw material requirements to assure that supply base is capable and new products development is adequately supported. Liaise with Division Category Managers and Division NPD Category Management team as required. Drive vendor(s) on Supplier Code of Conduct.

4.Cost reductions: Drive to the lowest possible total cost of ownership, whilst considering overall commodity strategies. Work with Division Category Managers, Engineering, Operations and the supply base to develop low cost alternatives. Understand all of the components of related costs to know where opportunities exist that need to be addressed. Work within the Division to know who to go to and how to address potential areas of cost savings.

5.Terms & Conditions and Agreements: Negotiate agreements that address the needs of the Division including, but not limited to price, delivery, quality, payment terms and other required services. Understand the market(s) well enough to know who the leaders in pricing, technology and service are. Liaise with Division Category Managers as where required.

6.Supplier Performance: Drive supplier performance to meet the overall needs of the plant and division. Communicate the suppliers’ performance by means of the Supplier Scorecard/Performance Evaluation and others Meet regularly with the management team of the key suppliers to assure that our requirements are understood and/or corrective plans are in place to drive continuous improvement.Consolidate all supplier performance of the entity to support global and division strategies when required.

7.Make vs Buy: Supports DMF analysis when required by Divisional or Plant Finance

8.Cross Divisional coordination: Coordinate with other Molex CCS Division to ensure consistency strategies across common commodities.Meet periodical with other sourcing entities to share best practices, supplier information, etc.

9.Compliance: Support Molex’s RBA program by following approved policies and procedures. Ensure at all times the Supply Base and Molex Sourcing operates within the framework of regulatory and legal requirements, such as Safety, Environmental, Tax, Customs and Ethical requirements. Drive and record the acceptance of respective documents and escalate non conformities and acceptance issues.

10.MBM: Understanding, applying, learning from MBM guiding principles and dimensions to provide highest long term value.

11.Global Sourcing Initiatives: Support rollout of global programs to the entity, eg PIP, Ariba, etc.

12.Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Degree in Engineering, Supply chain or Economy
  • At least 10 years working experiences in strategic sourcing
  • Preferably experience in direct materials sourcing
