Logistics/Trade Compliance Lead
Responsible for leading implementation programs in China to obtain the most efficient freight transportation at the most economical cost while ensuring all import and export activities adhere to the requirements as defined in company standards and government regulations. Communicate and lead logistics team to perform, administer, and provide technical and analytical work related to planning, development, and execution of logistics & Trade Compliance policies and programs.
What You Will Do In Your Role
Logistics Duties & Responsibilities:
·Lead and manage all logistics operations across the entire supply chain process with high level of expertise across Technical to administrative aspects.
·Provide ideal shipping techniques (i.e. routing/transport assessments etc.)
·Prepare accurate & complete Documentation for transshipments & drop shipments (inc. Tax Invoice, Pro-Forma Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading / Airwaybill).
·Generate documentations & follow up with excel traceability.
·Ensure that Documentation (invoices & pro-forma invoices) are aligned to FTA forms.
·Liaise with Customs Brokers to ensure, compliant import/export execution to avoid errors and penalties and manage the KPI expectations in line to the organization global standards.
·Manage the virtual logistics flows from origin to destination & maintain full control, compliance & visibility of transactions across the virtual network involving direct & drop shipments from Source (Plants or Hubs) to proximity hubs.
·Liaise and communicate with logistics service providers, internal and external stakeholders across all levels to ensure high operational optimization.
·Work with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations.
·Evaluate budgets and expenditures.
·Update and evaluate metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.
·Manage daily shipments to customers as per company’s quality standards.
·Perform distribution services based on local and international regulations.
·Provide expert logistic advice and resolve any shipment problems promptly.
·Respond to any issues or complaints.
·Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements.
·Provide training as and when required to educate local business units/departments on logistical/Trade Compliance expectations and industry best practice and provide guidance to global team on local process procedures.
·Additional duties as required by supervisor.
·Travel below 5%.
Trade Compliance Duties & Responsibilities:
·Main point of contact for International Trade Compliance (ITC) team regarding China trade compliance program components
·Provide support to all aspects of ITC covered by China regulations and in accordance with regulations as a US based company
·Assist in the convergence plan for legacy trade compliance programs along with development and enhancement of those programs
·Perform audit as requested by ITC team
·Main point of contact on operational matters for government authorities
·Coordination of regulatory compliance with other internal responsible functions (e.g., Business Compliance and Product Teams)
·Support ITC efforts to maintain and enhance processes and procedures regarding regulated trade activities (imports, exports, trade programs)
·Perform basic legislative and operational compliance impact analysis
·Interface with Engineering and Project Managers to understand technical characteristic impacts to export classifications in line with local and global export controls.
·Provide guidance to teams concerning the requirements and obligations of intra China and cross-border movement of goods.
·Support the product classification process to ensure HS, Export Control designation, and communication of this information to appropriate business personnel.
·Work with external partners and overseas contract manufacturers to provide advice and guidance on day to day import and export transactions.
·Supporting member of the APAC regional center of Trade Compliance Expertise
The Experience You Will Bring
·Academic qualifications to the standard of Diploma or Degree in logistics, international trade, business administration or supply chain management.
·Possess a background in industrial logistics / project logistics / trade compliance and China Customs knowledge with 10+ years experiences.
·Relevant experience in Global Freight Forwarding, intermodal transportation and Custom House Broker operations.
·Strong knowledge on China customs regimes such as harmonized tariff schedules, customs valuations, controlled products, country of origin rules, free trade programs and import VAT rules.
·Strong knowledge and understanding of transportation contracts and frame agreements.
·Familiar with supply chain security initiatives and qualified service providers requirements.
·Motivated to continue familiarization, training and research in China Customs import and export Regulatory Compliance requirements.
·Strong organizational, team and communication skills to work independently and take initiative to address issues.
·Fluent in Mandarin. Possess good business English skill and knowledge of other languages is a plus.
·Proficient technical software skills to keep accurate and easily accessible records: Intermediate level on MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word.
