The Training Specialist ensures employees receive the training and performance support needed to accomplish their job responsibilities as process operators, maintenance technicians, technical professionals and leaders in an efficient, safe and productive manner. The Training Specialist will collaborate with a wide variety of internal business partners to assess developmental needs and develop holistic learning solutions to create long-term value for the facility. This role will also be responsible for developing and providing information to employees at all levels regarding organizational and training issues to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Managing learning projects from analysis to implementation, including evaluation of training effectiveness and knowledge-skill transfer to the job
  • Develop and deliver instructional materials using principles of adult learning and leveraging multiple modalities to facilitate learning
  • Provide leadership through effective utilization of MBM framework, principles and mental models
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively teach, coach and mentor our employees

The Experience You Will Bring


  • 3+ years’ experience in instructional design, industrial organizational engineer, human resources, business, or a technical field
  • Experience in learning and development methodologies, learning management systems, training development and delivery, project management or change management
  • Proven ability to leverage technology to improve learning outcomes
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively teach, coach and mentor people
  • Minimum of an associates degree in a technical discipline, instructional design, or training and organizational development OR 3- 5 years of equivalent work experience

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with training in a refinery, chemical or power plant environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, industrial psychology, psychology, business management or human resource
  • Supervision or leadership experience
  • Prior training related workshops, seminars or certifications
