We are seeking a Senior Project Accountant to support our Building Products Capital COE team that is located at our Corporate Engineering Office in WI. We have a spot for you in Green Bay, WI or Atlanta, GA and will also consider WFH/Remote candidates. Ideally, a candidate will be able travel to an office as needed and when allowed. The successful candidate must be self-directed, able to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills and an affinity for data mining and analysis are keys to this position. You will also be an early adapter and advocate of transformation - for Yourself and the Company!  

What You Will Do In Your Role

This position will provide accounting, analysis, reporting and process improvements for our engineering department and the major capital projects we execute. This role will work closely with our project managers, engineers, accounting staff, and project controls. This position will assist the manager of accounting with accounting duties and identify/lead efforts to standardize/optimize a OneGP capital accounting process. 

  • Cost analysis and review of project adherence to the tax and capital policies
  • Accounting support for large capital projects and the engineering department to drive competitive engineering services
  • Execute, review, and document the accounting, reporting, and internal time tracking processes and systems for the department
  • Learn new systems being implemented and be an SME for other mill sites
  • Work with project managers, facility accounting, and corporate accounting to standardize and optimize accounting processes across BP
  • Identify improvement opportunities and work with the appropriate parties to implement solutions related to the project procure-to-pay process
  • Develop reports and metrics for project, portfolio, and engineering financial management
  • Accounting support for month-end closing activities with a focus on internal engineering billing to projects
  • Aid other process and system improvement initiatives as needed

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business
  • At least 3 years of experience in an Accounting or Financial Analysis role
  • Solid understanding of General Ledger and Cost Accounting principles, and the purpose of Internal Financial Controls
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365; that includes Excel (spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation) Word and PowerPoint

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with Infinium, MP2, EcoSys and/or Qlik
  • Experience using Tableau, Power BI, VBA/SQL or other data visualization software to develop metrics
  • Capital Project experience; i.e. reconciliations, cost controls and forecasting for capital projects
