Automotive Business Development Manager (m/w/d)

INVISTA’s Performance Solutions team is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager (home office based) to commercialize an innovative new product to the Airbag industry throughout Europe. This strategic innovation grew organically out of INVISTA’s airbag business and has multiple value elements across the global automotive industry. The Automotive Business Development Manager will report to the European Business Director and have frequent exposure to senior leadership (VP and President) of INVISTA and related companies.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Develop relationships and networks at OEM’s to sell the value of INVISTA innovations and create pull across the supply chain
  • Own technical interface at OEM’s and support Tier 1 interactions
  • Create proposals, estimates, specifications, and presentations
  • Commercialize new product technology within the Airbag value chain in Europe
  • Design interactions and develop technical sales strategies to target new opportunities, drive adoption, and gather market insight
  • Align with global counterparts on customer interactions and go to market activities
  • Support commercial leadership in developing segmentation, account strategies and business models
  • Support the business teams in determining the value of the technology in support of pricing and business strategies
  • Support the development of innovations and market experiments

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering related discipline
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the automotive industry
  • Comprehensive understanding of the automotive development life cycle, procurement, and qualification processes
  • Experience interacting with OEM’s on a technical, program management and/or commercial basis

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Proficiency in German or French is beneficial
  • MBA or experience in sales strategy development is of advantage
  • Preferable experience with SAP, Salesforce.com or Power-BI
  • Ability to travel outside of EU up to 25%
