Mechanical Engineer Intern

INVISTA Canada's Kingston Nylon manufacturing site located in Kingston, Ontario is looking for a Mechanical Engineer Intern to support INVISTA’s manufacturing plant within the Engineering team. A successful candidate will assist with the development and implementation of optimum reliability strategies for site assets.

It is an exciting phase in INVISTA’s continued evolution through growth and transformation projects. This position will be a key strategic addition in growing the capability of our global operations to make data driven decisions. This opening is for a 16-month term, starting May 2021 through August 2022.

What will you do in your role.

    • Working as a member of our mechanical engineering team, support a large manufacturing plant in the following arenas:
      • Design solutions to solve operational issues
      • Support and lead capital improvement projects
      • Integrate best maintenance technologies into predictive and preventive maintenance programs
      • Provide engineering support to Maintenance and Operations (Troubleshooting, problem solving, cost estimating and implementation of mechanical design solutions)
The experience you will bring.
    • Experience with CAD and design from concept, to drawing to physical asset
    • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong mechanical aptitude is a must.
    • Adaptability to self-manage effectively in both individual and team-oriented roles with minimal supervision.
Education
    • Currently enrolled or recent graduate of a University Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering degree program.
