What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Construct, assemble, maintain and repair coded pressure vessels, blinding, bolt up, opening and repair, towers, reactors or drums; installing mass transfer equipment (trays, packing, distributors, collectors, etc.); utilize work experience, best practices, and company specific assessment skills.
  • Able to operate tools and equipment including grinders, drills, etc.

  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, procedures and actively participate in the safety program.

  • Basic knowledge of P&IDs and be able to utilize them to identify and assemble internal tower equipment, take measurements and make calculations. 

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Must have 2 years or more experience in an refinery & gas plants environment working with towers/vessels/reactors or drums
  • Mechanical aptitude – ability to take measurements and follow instructions.
  • Must be able to provide your own transportation to job locations throughout Canada.
  • Candidates must be able to meet all company and customer qualifications to access job site including training requirements.

  • Willing and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends and overtime as needed.

  • Willing and able to repetitively lift 50lbs .  

  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.

  • Willing and able to work within a team environment; communicating with all levels of the organization which may include other maintenance employees, engineers, technicians, and/or outside contractors.

  • OSSA/ESC Confined Space Entry and Monitor
  • OSSA/ESC Fall Protection
  • CSTS-20 OR BOTH CSTS-09 AND CSO/BSO/RSO

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Previous experience entering towers or vessels through a confined space manway
  • First Aid
  • WHMIS/GHS
  • Crane and Rigging Training
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings or blueprints and be able to utilize them to identify and assemble internal tower equipment, take measurements and make calculations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Candidates must be able to work long hours and all shift schedules that may require up to twelve hours a day, seven days a week for extended durations.
  • Candidates also must be able to work in confined spaces and be capable of climbing ladders, scaffolds and working at heights.
  • Capable of working in outdoor weather and potential extreme environmental conditions.
  • Respiratory protection fit testing is required.
