Maintenance Coordinator – Augusta, GA

Georgia-Pacific is currently seeking a pro-active, results oriented Maintenance Coordinator for our corrugated box facility in Augusta, GA. The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for assisting the maintenance department in planning, directing, and guiding the business goals, plans, and processes for the department. The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to the maintenance department to ensure the maintenance team is meeting the objectives in safety, reliability, quality, cost, and customer service.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Drive safety culture by practicing safe behaviors and implementing safety enhancements to equipment and processes.
  • Assist in meeting environmental regulations by understanding best practices.
  • Effectively communicate with co-workers, operations, maintenance and plant leadership
  • Coordinate and request quotes with contractors on jobs outside the scope of in-house capabilities
  • Reinforce and support Preventive Maintenance program strategies.
  • Responsible for ordering of necessary parts and maintaining storeroom inventory control requirements
  • Responsible for all parts receipts and disbursements in a timely manner and ensuring the security of all parts
  • Optimize inventory levels ensuring that levels are based on parts availability and lead time from vendors
  • Call Vendors when necessary to get troubleshooting information and information on parts needed
  • Perform site technical representative duties with vendors and contractors performing work on site
  • Assist site finance group with inventory validation and financial requirements per company policies including conducting routine cycle counting to ensure 100% accuracy of inventory

The Experience You Will Bring


  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a maintenance planner/scheduler in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in reliability, maintenance repair and operation storeroom (MRO) techniques
  • Knowledge and experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift, on-call, holidays, weekends, and overtime as required
  • Technical writing skills for development of work instructions

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience working in corrugated packaging plant
  • A 2 year degree or higher in an industrial manufacturing related field
  • Experience using MP2 maintenance management system
