GP Harmon Recycling is seeking an Export Documentation Associate for our office in Jericho, NY to work with freight forwarders to file exports with US Customs, create and apply for inland/rail bills of lading and commercial invoices, and serve as a point of contact for internal and external customers. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Prepare export shipping documents and ensure timely processing.
  • Communicate and negotiate with the ocean carriers and freight forwarders to obtain the original and rated bill of ladings, identify and resolve discrepancies as required.
  • Communicate with appropriate internal/external customers, departments, loading facilities, freight forwarders, and customers when needed.
  • Create, assemble, and submit applicable export documentation required per country specific destination in accordance with export laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the process for export documents requiring Letter of Credit to ensure compliance with terms when presenting documents to the bank.
  • Maintain export files in an organized system.

    The Experience You Will Bring


    • Associates degree or higher
    • One year of experience in customer service, exports, or documentation
    • Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    What Will Put You Ahead

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher
    • Written/verbal Spanish language skills
