This position creates value by working with the manufacturing team throughout our production process to ensure quality specifications are met in our plywood mill. What You Will Do In Your Role

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Monitoring and analysis of production process/quality control data.

  • Maintenance and updating of quality/process control systems (Aptean)

  • Maintains all documentation pertaining to the APA-QMS 

  • Train personnel on quality/process control techniques.

  • Functions as primary APA Certified Quality Control Coordinator (ACQC).

  • Supervising production personnel in performance of QMS responsibilities, including quality checks and data collection. 

  • Oversight of the disposition of product determined to be noncompliant through inspection and/or testing.

  • Monitors functionality of mill’s quality monitoring systems (Ventek, Grecon, Limab)

  • Orders equipment and parts necessary for the Quality program.

  • Conducts mill studies to improve mill quality and efficiencies.

  • Performs other duties, as assigned. 

The Experience You Will Bring


Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a self-starter, action oriented individual. Possess good written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Demonstrate ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. 

  • Must possess basic computer skills- MS Office, Excel, MS Word. 

  • Have an acceptable work record relevant to performance, attendance and EH&S compliance.

  • Demonstrate ability to grasp new concepts 

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • This position will be responsible for developing leadership capabilities and the incumbent in this role will be preparing to become a production supervisor.

  • In addition to the quality technician role, responsibilities include supervising production personnel as needed within a department as needed.

  • Must be willing to accept future management positions in the facility. Selected candidate must be available to fill in for supervisors as needed. 

  • Must be able to work any shift and weekends

  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in American Plywood Association Quality Management System (APA/QMS) within 90 days.

  • Must be able to determine wood failures to APA Standards within 90 days

  • Must meet all the General Work Requirements

What Will Put You Ahead

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Management experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience as an APA Certified Quality Control Coordinator (ACQC)
