The Controls Technician will design, develop, install, and manage equipment used to control and monitor machinery and processes to ensure production standards are met while maintaining a customer focus and creating value through continual improvement in product and process.   

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Accountable for troubleshooting automation equipment
  • Manage the design and installation of electrical equipment including PLC’s, HMI’s, variable speed drives, and other instruments
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and implement programming adjustments to all PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs along with variable frequency drives, vision systems, and other automated equipment
  • Develop and implement unique automated solutions to benefit production and improve cycle time
  • Reduce downtime by identifying and correcting ongoing issues and preventing quality alerts
  • Stay in compliance with all safety requirements
  • Responsible for following all environmental policies, procedures, work instructions and requirements, including the proper use of personal protective equipment
  • Responsible for immediately reporting to management all environmental concerns related to work being carried out, as well as, all incidents, which present a hazard to people, production, or the environment

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Relevant manufacturing experience
  • Experience in PLC programming
  • Demonstrated leadership and trouble-shooting abilities
  • Ability to drive process improvements and work within a team to resolve problems
  • Must possess excellent communication skills with all levels within the organization

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion
  • Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures & perform work indoors/outdoors as needed
  • Frequently required to stand and walk; use hands to finger fine manipulation, handle, and feel; reach with arms and hands above head; talk and hear
  • Sometimes required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or sit
  • Specific vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
