SMT Programmer


Responsible for generating SMT machine programs with consistent programming techniques   

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Perform capacity analysis on SMT equipment

  • Knowledge for creating SMT programs on platforms (Yamaha P-tool, Fuji Nexim, Panasonic DGS)

  • LBR analysis (Line Balance Report in the SMT programs)

  • Perform analysis of OEE

  • Perform 4Q of down time for improvement to SMT programming area

  • PST methodology or common loads

  • Analysis and actions for the decrease of Attrion Rate

  • Perform engineering continuous improvement projects

  • Assists manufacturing and production readiness reviews

  • Partners with Process and Quality Engineers to review and analyze defect/yield data; coordinates root cause and corrective actions using appropriate tools/methodologies.

  • Responsible for monitoring, evaluating, or improving the performance of SMT equipment

  • Perform programming updates from SMT line changes and Engineering change request

  • Support new product introduction at SMT and provide feedback on design for manufacturing

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Minimum 3 years experience supporting SMT programming team
  • Hands on technical experience with SMT processes.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 D
  • Skilled in problem solving techniques and methods (process, product, procedure). Experience with continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with implementing lean tools/methods (Standard work, 5S, cells, TPM, 1 piece flow, Set Up reduction, Poka Yoke)
  • Familiarity with work standards and visual manufacturing instructions
  • Strong computer skills
  • Fluent English
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes, prioritize and execute multiple tasks in the fast pace environment
  • Detail- oriented, fast learner


  • Bachelor Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
