Guardian Glass is seeking you to become our next Second Shift Machine Operator – Spacer in Sun Prairie Wisconsin!

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance operation and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Checks blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines, such as dies, extruder heads, jigs, and winders/unwinders.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machine factors, such as speed, feed, and material flow rates, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.
  • May install machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and test operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
  • May confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machine or assembly problems.
  • Complete disassembly and cleaning of tooling.

The Experience You Will Bring

  • 3 years working in production operation in machinist, tool/die, or extrusion operator positions.
  • Basic navigation and computer skills, including MS Office products.
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail, safety, and quality oriented.
  • Proven strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of dependability, initiative, and a positive attitude toward co-workers and the job.
  • Proven track record of being self-motivated and a quick learner.

We are currently offering a $1,000 sign on bonus.

Pay range is $19 - $20/hr - and is based on experience.
