Our team is currently seeking a Sr. Test Engineer to perform standard and complex tests, analysis, and evaluations on Molex products. You will have the opportunity to support a wide variety of tests and design and debug testers for an assigned product, as well as work on a broad scope of projects with a collaborative team. You'll usually work on multiple projects at one time and will make decisions on how best to execute the project, plan and what method/practice to employ. This position requires analysis of complex technical data and you will use test procedures as guides, but you will have the freedom to determine best preparation method.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Design and debug test equipment to measure and evaluate high-speed copper cable products. Incorporate test limits by performing appropriate Signal Integrity analysis. Utilizing standard departmental procedures, develops and modifies product test plans to establish performance and reliability of the products being tested.
  • Prepares detailed test reports. Includes statistical analysis, observations, executive summary, detailed test data, detailed experimental procedures, equipment and specimen detail.
  • Conducts standard and advanced failure analysis and provides detailed reports. With assistance, evaluates results and provides corrective actions or recommendations
  • Ensure High Performance Cable Assembly Products meet all Signal Integrity Requirements.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of Electrical Laboratory Technicians or Interns as needed to assemble and debug the Signal Integrity test equipment.
  • Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, OR an Engineering degree with software/hardware experience
  • A minimum of 5+ years experience in a laboratory or production test environment
  • Experience developing and implementing custom test systems ensuring products meet adherence to quality standards
  • Experience with compiled programming languages such as C/C++ or VB with the Microsoft .NET framework and scripted programming languages such and Tcl/Tk or Python
  • Proven experience to complete several large projects simultaneously, which require support from several different sources
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Previous experience in a laboratory testing high-speed copper products
  • Experience designing electrical testers to measure Signal Integrity of high speed copper cables
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistical analysis techniques
  • Demonstrated knowledge of failure analysis
  • Experience with PC based statistical analysis software
