Flint Hills Resources is seeking qualified Pipeline Operators in the Waupun, WI. A successful candidate will have the ability to work independently, have good critical thinking skills, will possess good computer skills and verbal and written communication.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Effectively locate and mark underground pipelines
  • Comply with applicable, state and company one-call laws and one-call ticket responsibilities
  • Install permanent markers, signs, and manage right-or-way activities and encroachments
  • Excavation and construction oversight of third parties working near FHR pipelines
  • Field operations across the system including facility station checks, equipment inspections, pipeline pigging, contractor oversight, right of way evaluations
  • Maintenance of equipment through scheduled PM’s, general troubleshooting, and repairs
  • Promote pipeline safety and safe digging practices, this includes, but not limited to, communicating with excavators, landowners, and emergency response officials
  • Traveling to remote locations to perform work described above 

The Experience You Will Bring


Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • General computer skills with the ability to use and learn proprietary databases
  • Position requires the ability to be in an on-call rotational and work overtime as needed
  • Ability to respond to calls 24/7 for emergency response and business needs
  • Must be able to wear PPE in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, fire retardant clothing, respirator, safety boots, etc.)
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, or inclement climate conditions (outdoor conditions)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (with frequent carrying of up to 25 pounds)
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time with overnight stays

What Will Put You Ahead

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a pipeline or terminal operations technician
  • Experience working in pipeline damage prevention (line locating, excavators, public awareness)
  • Experience with general electrical safe work and troubleshooting (AC/DC voltages)
  • Experience working on industrial equipment (pumps, motors, valves, actuators, transmitters)
  • Experience reading and interpreting maps and drawings
