Product Manager

Description

The Product Manager will be responsible for maintaining our current position in core products and key markets as wells as driving growth in new markets. That includes product strategy creation, leading product road mapping, positioning, marketing, profitability as well as market Point of View and Voice of Customer collection.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Responsible for product strategies and profitability for select product families in the core products group. The product manager is directly responsible for developing and driving new products and business pipeline globally. This includes:

    1. Developing product road maps and leading the development of those products

    2. Developing and executing marketing strategies and promotion of product families

    3. Customer engagement planning andtravel to customer locations as required for product presentation
  • Ensure alignment between the business unit and Global sales and marketing team in regard to assigned product families 
  • Works closely with product operations, group manager and director to ensure product and technology road map aligns with regional and global POV and responsible forresearch to analyze competitive position, market trends, and technological direction for specified region 
  • Identifies product trends and technologies; Justifies investments in new products and technologies 
  • Owner of economic study and validation of in region business opportunities to ensure business pipeline meets profit targets 
  • Responsible for meeting both revenue and profit targets for product families 
  • Provide both product and business unit capability training and education to sales and customers

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical area of study
  • 4+ years’ combined experience in relevant areas such as product management, product marketing, business development, technical sales, FEA or product design with direct exposure to manufacturing of electro-mechanics at OEM or sub-assembly level 
  • Business level Japan and English, both written and Verbal 
  • Proven track record in developing new product lines, bringing them to market and realizing the target profit levels 
  • Excellent customer relations skills.Must be sensitive to the customer’s needs and show a sense of urgency to address customer issues 
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to identify customers functional requirements and map to Molex design and manufacturing expertise
  • Strong organizational skills to anticipate, plan, prioritize and self-monitor workload.Interpersonal skills to effectively work with co-workers and external contacts to respond positively to situations 
  • Strong presentation skills that show the ability to prepare and deliver concise and effective presentations to customers and Molex personnel
  • Strong computer skills

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Advanced degree – MBA, Advanced Technical degree – Engineering (electronics, mechanical, etc.)
  • Previous experience in product management or product marketing with a component manufacturing company
  • Ability to travel both internationally and domestically
