Sr. Quality Engineer


Leadership role for the company regarding all aspects of APQP for both New and Existing Product as well as providing support in other areas of the Quality Function for the company. Expectation is to be the second level of support in the absence of the QA Manager.

What you will do in your role.

  • Lead and Manage the APQP/NPI/Contract Review Process as well as act as the QA representative. This includes coordinating live contract reviews and communication of any discrepancies found during the CR process with the team.
  • Develop Quality Inspection plans on all New/Revised Products and others as needed.
  • Implementation of the APQP Core Tools- Control Plans, FMEA and Process Flow Diagrams.
  • Develop, implement and lead FMEA process for all existing and new processes. Including the training and coordination of FMEA system throughout the organization. Integrating the current router system to align with the PFD methodology. Combining the Quality Plans into an organized Control Plan Document.
  • Help lead RCA and CAR Teams, with specific focus on the FMEA Process and role in permanently eliminating Root causes from reoccurring.
  • Manage the Specification Library, including Customer, Internal and External Specifications. Keeping current and ensuring that all relevant departments have access and are kept current on any changes.
  • Perform Internal Audits (ISO and otherwise) and engage in Action Teams from the results of audits.
  • Communicate with Suppliers on changes to the company expectations related to process, product or other specifications both internal or external.
  • Document, Manage, Coordinate and Implement Deviations. Primary for Customer Deviations.
  • Participate and if needed, lead efforts on Corrective Actions, both of an internal and external origin. This may include communication with the customer as needed.
  • Perform MSA and other SPC Studies- such as Gage R&R, Capability Studies, Pareto Analysis, Design of Experiments, etc.
  • Monitoring the creation and performance of implementing C=0 and First Piece Inspection sheet as well as data analysis of the results from the C=0 and First Piece Inspection Data.
  • Full responsibility for the creation, documentation, submission and follow-through on all customer submissions, PPAP, First Article etc. This includes monitoring the current status for all submissions.
  • Provide support and guidance to satellite operations (such as Kunshan, China) related to product transfer and introduction

The experience you will bring.

  • 5+ Years Quality Engineering Experience working in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Advanced understanding of blueprint/engineering drawings
  • Advanced capability using the CORE Tools (APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA)
  • APQP Core - Control Plan, Process Flow Diagram and FMEA, including PPAP
  • Working Knowledge of QMS (ISO 9001:2015)
  • Basic Exposure to Internal Auditing
  • Basic Understanding of Work Instruction/Job Instruction
  • Basic understanding of using Technical Specifications (ASTM, ASME, etc.)


  • BS- Engineering or equivalent experience
