Manage and direct all molding unit operations to achieve business plan objectives while providing superior customer service and satisfaction. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Support improvement to production tooling until key performance metrics are met. Ensure new tooling qualification and startup meet or exceed plant expectations. Ensure new tool post-mortem’s are completed timely and with sufficient data. Ensure “lessons learned” are incorporated back into the development process.
  • Develop yearly plans focusing on continuous improvement with emphasis on new product launch, tooling technology, standardization, quality, cost reduction and lead-time reduction. Support the use of GLSS tools and methods to increase department productivity and reduce waste. Review department progress on a monthly basis vs. key business plan metrics and goals. Make necessary adjustments to achieve business objectives.
  • Support and drive 6S programs and practices to maintain a safe working environment with good housekeeping practices. Ensure employees follow all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) policies.
  • Provide communication on a regular basis to employees and supervisors regarding company, division, plant and department objectives.
  • Appraise employee performance per Molex policies and procedures as well as assist in employee interviewing, training, development, discipline and other activity as required.
  • Encourage, support and foster an environment of open communication between all department/divisional groups, facilities, and regional/global resources.
  • Understand and support Molex MBM© initiative by embracing the Five Dimensions and Guiding Principles. Provide guidance and leadership for the unit to ensure staff receives proper MBM© training and support.
  • Understand, support and contribute to Molex Total Quality Management (TQM) initiative, GLSS, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.

The Experience You Will Bring

Required qualifications

  • 4 to 7 years minimum experience in a key connector manufacturing discipline (molding, stamping, plating, assembly) in a Manager Position
  • Understanding of injection mold design, construction and assembly processes
  • Working knowledge of molding process optimization and principles
  • Working knowledge of engineered molding materials, properties and processes

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in plastics engineering, manufacturing or technical field or equivalent experience
  • Master Mold certification a plus
