Koch Fertilizer Dodge City, LLC is seeking a Plant Operator to join our team in Dodge City, KS. Koch Fertilizer is an entrepreneurial company pursuing a self-motivated candidate to be a part of the plant production team with specific focus on process reliability and optimization.

What you will do in your role.

  • Monitoring process equipment Inspecting equipment, processing and collecting data
  • Performing reliability based equipment care tasks
  • Collecting samples and quality testing product
  • Providing technical expertise to ensure optimized operations of the plant to safety produce, store, and ship product Completing safety focused check sheets and environmental data collection sheets
  • Fostering a culture of personal and collective safety, accountability and environmental compliance

Basic Qualifications:

  • Available and willing to work rotating shifts 
  • Willing to respond to call-outs and work overtime as needed Willing and able to assess hazards to avoid injury, to stop and ask if safe work conditions are questioned, to work injury free at all times 
  • Effective computer skills (Microsoft Office, computerized maintenance management system, etc.) 
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and as a team member 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time, multiple priorities and resources 
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication 
  • Must have valid driver's license Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds 
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work at heights exceeding 100 feet 
  • Must be able and willing to work outdoors in all types of weather 
  • Must be able to pass a pulmonary breathing test, wear a gas mask type respirator and full body coverage personal protective clothing and equipment, including a full chemical protective suit

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous ammonia, chemical plant, or refinery operations experience 
  • Familiarity with Yokogawa distributed control system 
  • Experience with water treatment, boiler operations, and basic mechanical equipment repair 1+ years of experience in an industrial setting 
  • Two-year degree in process technology, instrumentation, maintenance, or electronics

Education

  • High school diploma or GED
