Georgia Pacific is looking for a Senior BI Architect to join our segment business intelligence team. The Senior BI Architect will be a thought leader for the organization, and will build data structures to enable business leaders across the organization to understand the business and make the best data driven decisions possible. The Senior BI Architect will work with IT and business leadership to understand the questions that need to be answered by the BI platform, and will develop systems and data architectures to meet the requirements of the business. A successful candidate will apply their technical expertise to design and implement elegant and agile solutions to complex data modeling challenges  

What you will do in your role

  • Collaborate with the BI and Data Engineering teams to understand and assist with ongoing development work
  • Build and maintain systems and architecture diagrams describing the segment BI environment
  • Develop data models to support ad hoc and enterprise BI capabilities 

The experience you will bring

  • At least 5 years experience in Business Intelligence using Microsoft Power BI/SSAS and or Amazon Redshift
  • Strong understanding of Kimball methodology as well as common database design principles (normal forms, star schema, ect)
  • Expert level understanding of Relational Databases (TSQL, Redshirt, PL/pgsql), SSAS Tabular (DAX, Power BI Premium)
  • Experience deploying BI solutions via CICD
  • Experience building data warehouses describing enterprise supply chain and logistics, order to cash, financial planning, general ledger accounting and process manufacturing
  • Strong skills in C#, Python, Java, or JavaScript

What Will Put You Ahead

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience building automated unit, intergration and data tests for BI solutions
  • Experience using Power BI Premium features (Paginated reports, XMLA endpoints, Composite Models)
  • Experience with Tableau Server
  • Familiarity with several common high level languages (C#, Java, Python, Javascript, Ho ect)
  • Understanding of infrastructure as code frameworks (Terraform, Cloud Formation)
  • Experience with git source control
  • Exposure to serverless compute technologies (Lambda, Glue, SQS, ect.
  • Experience deploying solutions to Amazon Web Services
  • Understanding of streaming data technologies (Kafka, Kinesis)
