Director of Sales


Molex is seeking a dynamic and proactive Director of Sales to support our Optical Solutions business. This Director of Sales will be influential on developing, defining, and executing our strategy to achieve profitable growth as well as a be responsible for creating and converting a strong portfolio of SalesForce opportunities to ensure future growth objectives in assigned Optical Solutions account base. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Form and execute a sales strategy to achieve sustainable, profitable revenue growth
  • Identify, screen, pursue and track new sales opportunities while growing existing business
  • Lead and manage price/share negotiations, pricing roadmaps and maintain favorable share position
  • Manage day-to-day sales activities such as quotations, booking, shipments and inventory
  • Provide periodic forecasts through forecasting system in a timely and accurate manner
  • Establish and maintain all levels of relationships with customers to deliver Molex’s value proposition and enhance Molex’s position
  • Willing to travel at least 25% of time both domestically and internationally

The Experience You Will Bring


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor Degree in engineering or related field OR 8+ years equivalent experience required
  • Previous sales, technical marketing and/or product line management experience required
  • Strong interpersonal, presenting and negotiating skills
  • Sound written communications (emails, proposals, PowerPoint slides) and verbal communications skills (making presentations, conference calls).
  • Proven to be a self-starter, team-player and result driven
  • Solid analytical skills in deciphering marketing and finance data to effectively unlock customer’s value and make data-driven sales proposals
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word and etc.
  • General fiber optic component, module, and system knowledge

What Will Put You Ahead

  • 5+ years experience in Telecom, Datacom, Optics or Semiconductor industry preferred
  • MBA preferred
  • General fiber optic component, module, and system knowledge
