Georgia-Pacific Chemicals LLC is seeking a Senior Project Manager for either our Lufkin, TX or Crossett, AR locations. GP Chemicals produces products used in a diverse range of industries including building products, aerospace, and coatings. The product portfolio covers specialty and basic chemicals, which are often custom formulated, and used in a wide variety of applications. What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Accountable for providing integrity-based leadership for the execution of major industrial capital projects from conceptualization through operational performance testing
  • Skilled in project management processes and practices
  • Direct all phases of the capital project development including design, procurement, construction, and system start up
  • Support business objectives by safely and responsibly delivering project goals including product quality, production, schedule, and cost
  • Strong leadership based on integrity, humility, and respect for others
  • Capable of influencing and building partnerships, developing teamwork, and managing others
  • Organizational effectiveness
  • Strong economic and critical thinking skills
  • Good communication skills

The Experience You Will Bring

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience developing projects, managing design and construction activities in the chemical industry.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or higher
  • Knowledge of chemical industry with emphasis in batch processes
  • Knowledge of PM tools (Estimating, Scheduling, Costs Control and Cost Engineering) 
  • Project execution with projects exceeding $500,000


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
