Our team at Phillips Medisize is currently seeking an Operations Manager to join our team! This position will provide leadership and guidance for global medical device contract development and manufacturing organization focused on effective operational planning/execution, resource management, continuous improvement strategies, and fostering a culture consistent with the company’s guiding principles. What you will do in your role:

  • Improve and sustain the performance of the GID-Hudson operations from production and maintenance planning through execution and delivery in a clean room environment.
  • Organize and coordinate activities within the manufacturing operation that align with customer and company goals for new and existing products.
  • Partner with peer leaders to support key programs, organizational goals, and standards.
  • Actively participate and support product and process development activities.
  • Drive team compliance and a state of audit readiness aligned with the Environmental Management System and Quality Management System.
  • Forecast capital expenditures for improvement, replacement, or modification to production equipment and facilities
  • Consistently monitor KPIs and metrics in order to recommend improvements that yield improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Participate in continual improvement/innovation, corrective action and internal/external customer satisfaction.
  • Improve and sustain an operational excellence framework focused on team member engagement and waste elimination.
  • Provide positive and accountable leadership, coaching and development that aligns with the company’s MBM Principles.
  • Ensure that the Operations department functions in a complaint manner and is always in a state of “Audit Ready”.
  • Foster a culture or cooperation and teamwork with engineering.
  • Participate in the business planning process
  • Ensure cGMPs are followed and provide necessary training
  • Manage a flexible (full time/contract) work force
  • Design Development
    • Provide creative and compliant solutions in support design and manufacturing process development.
    • Interact at a project level is support of healthy projects.

The experience you will bring:

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years' experience leading/supervising people
  • Minimum 8 years work experience in a large manufacturing environment
  • Leadership in a medical manufacturing environment
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification or experience
  • SPC knowledge
  • Cost accounting knowledge
  • Willing and able to travel up to 10%
  • Willing and able to be on call as needed
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelors’ degree in a manufacturing related discipline, or equivalent experience in a relevant industry
