Description
Position: Quality Lab Technician
Reports: Quality Engineer
Shift: C
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe working environment, adhere to safety principles, and maintain accepted housekeeping standards.
- Providing accurate and reliable performance test data as required, utilizing standard test equipment techniques (Salt spray, CASS, Water immersion, Paint adhesion, temperature cycling, hardness, pull test, Kocour test).
- Provide accurate test information as it pertains to Initial Samples.
- Provide accurate test information as it pertains to in-process performance.
- Report results in a manner that is easily understood and usable by Engineering, Sales, Quality and Management
- Perform tests to pre-determined standards.
- Identify and report testing deficiencies as compared with drawings, specs, or technical standards
- Provide information and assist with problem solving activities
- Maintain and assure conformance of all associated policies and procedures in accordance with TS-16949.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the Performance Lab.
- Maintain data on the environment in the Performance Lab.
- Other duties as assigned by supervision.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work overtime and weekends
- Ability to carry out duties with limited supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-4 years’ of experience in a Quality test laboratory
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand or walk on concrete floor for 8+ hours and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
· Requires hand, arm back, and leg strength; also, bending, reaching and squatting ability
· Must have eye, foot, and hand coordination, and be able to do repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine motor manipulation
- Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures and perform work indoors/outdoors as needed
