Position: Quality Lab Technician

Reports: Quality Engineer

Shift: C

Main Responsibilities:

• • Maintain a safe working environment, adhere to safety principles, and maintain accepted housekeeping standards.
  • Providing accurate and reliable performance test data as required, utilizing standard test equipment techniques (Salt spray, CASS, Water immersion, Paint adhesion, temperature cycling, hardness, pull test, Kocour test).
  • Provide accurate test information as it pertains to Initial Samples.
  • Provide accurate test information as it pertains to in-process performance.
  • Report results in a manner that is easily understood and usable by Engineering, Sales, Quality and Management
  • Perform tests to pre-determined standards.
  • Identify and report testing deficiencies as compared with drawings, specs, or technical standards
  • Provide information and assist with problem solving activities
  • Maintain and assure conformance of all associated policies and procedures in accordance with TS-16949.
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the Performance Lab.
  • Maintain data on the environment in the Performance Lab.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervision.

  Required Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends
  • Ability to carry out duties with limited supervision

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years’ of experience in a Quality test laboratory

  Physical Requirements:

  · Ability to stand or walk on concrete floor for 8+ hours and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

  · Requires hand, arm back, and leg strength; also, bending, reaching and squatting ability

  · Must have eye, foot, and hand coordination, and be able to do repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine motor manipulation

  • Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures and perform work indoors/outdoors as needed
