Barko Operator (Knuckleboom Loader)

Night Shift Position

Rate of Pay - $23.50 with $1.50 shift differential for working nights

Georgia Pacific Corrigan has an immediate need for Barko Operators (Knuckleboom) in our Plywood Manufacturing facility. Our operators play a vital role in the productivity of our mill, ensuring that our equipment is running properly and producing a quality product. Come be a part of a winning team.

What You Will Do

  • Safely operate Barko (knuckleboom loaders)
  • Perform preventative, predictive, and proactive maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, and servicing of equipment to improve reliability, limit downtime, and make repairs as necessary
  • Maintain equipment fluids – hydraulic, oil, diesel and have responsibility for greasing equipment.
  • Load and unload trucks and placing logs in storage and supplying logs to the mill.
  • Maintain proper rotation of logs.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing all required safety equipment

    Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

    • One (1) or more years of experience  Barko Operator (i.e. Knuckleboom loader, small crane, etc.)
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while monitoring several areas simultaneously
    • Ability to perform preventative maintenance
    • Must be willing and able to work any shift
    • Must be willing and able to perform such tasks as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day

    What Will Put You Ahead

    • Experience operating a knuckle boom loader
    • Current forklift or other heavy equipment operator’s certificate
    • Experience troubleshooting equipment
    • One (1) or more years of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
