Scrum Master - Hybrid Opportunity

Guardian Industries has an immediate need for a Scrum Master. Ideally, this role will be a hybrid opportunity based out of our corporate headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI (greater Detroit, MI area). This position offers opportunity for professional development and flexibility as the selected individual will work at the Auburn Hills office approximately 2-3 days per week.

As a Scrum Master, you will be on the forefront on Guardian’s journey to scaled agile, and also be part of the largest technology enabled transformation in our history. This means you will have the rare opportunity to drive advanced agile thinking in an organization eager for change, while making a meaningful impact on a high value opportunity.

As part of these efforts, the Scrum Master is responsible for guiding, coaching, and supporting an Agile product team in the delivery and realization of business value across the program portfolio.

Success will be achieved by leveraging your Agile experience, leadership and coaching skills, bringing a positive attitude as well as the understanding for building cross-functional relationships to deliver process and technology solutions within a complex global environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with the Product Owner to align team with product vision, sprint goals and priorities
  • Facilitate the scrum process for project teams (to include supporting the development and management of the product backlog, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint execution and all other Scrum events)
  • Anticipate and aggressively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent work completion
  • Mentor and coach team members in Agile values and principles
  • Build team cohesion and foster open and honest team communication
  • Collect, report, and refine agile metrics to quantify and communicate team performance
  • Ensure that teams are effectively executing against the highest value priorities
  • Providing "go to" leadership, transparency, and visibility
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach, getting things done, accountability & ownership, prioritizes own workload
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills

Who You Are (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or higher in Business, Computer Science, Project Management, Education or a technology discipline OR equivalent agile project delivery experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience with Agile processes to deliver projects
  • Experience in working with internal and external customers/resources (Product Owners), strong stakeholder management
  • Experience presenting at various organizational levels 

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience with Agile ERP implementations
  • Experience with ADO or Jira
  • Experience with agile estimation and planning techniques
