Health & Safety Manager

What You Will Do

The Health and Safety Manger will report to the Site Manager and is responsible for leadership of the site Health and Safety team focused on the following:

  • Providing transformational leadership, direction, and influence to achieve the Health & Safety vision through management commitment and employee ownership.
  • Building a well-rounded Health & Safety team by identifying needed capabilities and bringing in the right talent to create an environment of Transformation and Self-Actualization.
  • Utilizing data to identify and understand risks, provide visibility to teams, and partner to develop, prioritize and execute strategies that result in industry leading Health & Safety Performance.
  • Ensuring site Health & Safety Management Systems are developed and integrated into the site operating practices.
  • Partnering with facility leadership to develop short and long-term Health & Safety objectives, targets, strategies, and measures that prioritize and mitigate risks.
  • Provide guidance to the Health & Safety and Operations teams to achieve site objectives by driving innovation, cultivating ownership, and fostering the environment for learning and transformation.
  • Support the follow-up and closure of Health & Safety action plans from activities such as investigations, audits, and PHAs and provide oversight to ensure applied controls utilize the hierarchy of controls and are implemented so they are sustained in the organization.
  • Conducting routine management reviews and adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Developing Health & Safety capabilities in the site operations organization to meet the Operations Vision.
  • Identifying and deploying digital technologies that disrupt the way traditional manufacturing is done in-order to create superior long-term value for the organization.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health Technology or a related field with at least 5 years of experience involving health and safety management to include development and implementation of health and safety programs in a manufacturing, industrial or military environment.
  • And previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing, industrial or military environment.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • CSP or other Health & Safety Certifications
  • Health and Safety experience in a PSM covered facility
  • Experience leading large and complex talent development strategies, programs, and processes.
  • Good communication and interpersonal relationship skills
