Senior Network Engineer - Remote

This will be a remote position based out of Atlanta, GA. 


Georgia-Pacific is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer who, under minimal supervision, will design, develop, and maintain network equipment. A successful candidate will be a highly skilled member of a network team responsible for manufacturing infrastructure emphasizing network and operational reliability. This role will give you the opportunity to use your skills to support the entire Georgia-Pacific enterprise, including 110 manufacturing locations, corporate HQ, and many carpeted spaces. What You Will Do

  • Provide Tier 3 infrastructure support for all Georgia-Pacific’s manufacturing facilities, including mills, plants, and warehouses.
  • Work with technologies that include various manufacturing and process control systems, such as Windows Server technologies, virtual server environments, business and process control LANs, wireless networking, storage/backups, and infrastructure tools.
  • Wired and Wireless network design and troubleshooting.
  • Firewall network design and troubleshooting.
  • Function as a SME for enterprise tools and services (Cisco DNA, Fortinet firewalls, Lansweeper, BlueCat, Cisco ISE, Ekahua Wi-FI Design tool, etc.)
  • Analyze system failures or bugs and providing solutions to restore functionality
  • Participate in the implementation of new systems or company standards needed in the manufacturing environment as a team leader or member.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders translating business requirements in value driven actions.
  • Participate in the infrastructure on call rotation.
  • Travel up to 25% - as needed.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds, work in various mill environments, climb stairs.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience with Cisco networking equipment or equivalent network technologies (configuring routers/switches, installations)
  • Experience administering wired and wireless networks or firewall security.
  • Experience with the management of LAN networks, TCP/IP, OPC, 802.11 protocols and network technologies (wired & wireless).
  • Experience with the Purdue model for industrial controls
  • Experience troubleshooting complex network issues such as spanning tree loops and HSRP
  • Experience w/ Python and PowerShell for network automation 

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, cyber security, or related field.
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing operation environment.
  • Experience with Networking, DHCP, DNS and Active Directory.
  • Experience w/ Ansible playbooks and Cisco DNA for network automation
  • Experience with security related to business infrastructure assets, process control assets and firewalls.
  • Experience with Project Management
  • Experience using the following Tools: Lansweeper, ServiceNow/ITOM, LogicMonitor, Splunk, Ekahua Wi-FI Design tool, Cisco DNA, Bluecat, BigFix)
