Flint Hills Resources is looking for a Senior Process Engineer- Hydroprocessing to join their Corpus Christi, Texas refinery. The Senior Process Engineer is a key member of the site Process Technology department as well as a critical support member of Business Teams. The process engineering team is dedicated to being the technical leaders that drive the highest value solution for our partners. You will be joining a technical community of 30+ chemical engineers dedicated to the troubleshooting, optimization, and design improvement of the refinery units.

What You Will Do
- Building and expanding technical network internally and externally to the company
- Developing value creation ideas and projects economic analysis for assigned units and technologies
- Ensuring the technical basis of projects meets business objectives.
- Monitoring long-term unit performance against industry benchmarks
- Supporting the building of a unit monitoring toolkits for Hydroprocessing units
- Reviewing and supporting benchmark studies (Solomon)
- Mentoring and supporting Production Engineers during unit troubleshooting, unit monitoring, PHAs, critical procedures, and monthly Business Review meetings
- Directing and assisting Operations with the design of experiments and process guidelines
- Owning the Process Engineer modeling programs
- Providing turnaround program technical support and technical scoping as needed
- Contributing to process safety and environmental performance through Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) programs, Management of Changes (MOC), investigations team member or leader
- Collaborate with Economics & Planning group to ensure that refinery operation meets plan.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field
- 7 years of refining or chemical plant process engineering experience
- Previous experience with Hydroprocessing technologies
- Experience with catalyst selection processes and catalyst monitoring
- Familiarity with PHA and HAZOP processes
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor of Science or higher in Chemical Engineering from an ABET (or similar) accredited program
- Experience with other typical refining processes (Hydrotreating, Crude, FCC, Alkylation, Reforming, etc.)
- Experience leading PHA revalidation studies and presenting findings to leadership
- Experience as a RCFA or investigation leader
- Knowledgeable of industry standards such at API
- Process modeling simulation with Aspen HYSYS
- Experience leading cross-functional teams
