Field Service Technician
Description
Join the team at John Zink Hamworthy Combustion as a Field Service Technician for a remote position with travel in a company vehicle to service assigned territories. Typically about 75% travel to customer sites. You’ll be responsible for providing all-encompassing support, including preventative maintenance, emergency assistance, troubleshooting, automation support, and commissioning for new and existing equipment.
At John Zink Hamworthy Combustion you will work with top-of-the-line equipment, such as burners, flares, thermal oxidizers, boiler burners, and vapor recovery systems
We have openings in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana or New Mexico
What You Will Do In Your Role
- Perform testing, troubleshooting, and commission of various electrical and electronic equipment manufactured and packaged equipment, including pumps, motors, valves, transmitters, emission monitoring equipment, recorders, and PLCs
Install, navigate, troubleshoot and alter PLCs, PID loop controllers, VFDs, HMIs & other control devices
Generate/modify technical documents & drawings to represent final field changes and corrections for commissioning of equipment
Remain on call for customer service and complete all required service ticket information with customer acceptance of services & parts provided
Provide end-user training & participate in cross-training within the service department
Install, navigate, troubleshoot and alter PLCs, PID loop controllers, VFDs, HMIs & other control devices

The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Experience programming, calibrating, and configuring 4-20 MA loop devices
- Experience for modifying, diagnosing and troubleshooting PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controllers) such as, but not limited to, Allen Bradley and GE brands
- Experience understanding and applying National Electrical code (NEC)
- Experience reading and understanding P&ID’s, fabrication drawings, and electrical schematics
- A TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) will have to be obtained within first six (6) weeks of employment
- Valid Drivers License to drive a Company vehicle and respond to customers as the need arises.
- Able to lift up to 50# on occasion and 25# routinely, able to bend, stoop, crawl and maneuver around skidded equipment and piping.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Previous work experience as a field service technician
- Electrical journeyman license
- Experience working on all types of industrial, electrical and electronic equipment including, but not limited to motors, valves, actuators, transmitters and PLC equipment
- Experience with Industrial safety, OSHA and NFPA 70E.
- Electrical journeyman license

For this role, we anticipate paying $30.00 - $45.00 per hour.
