This position compensation range is $25.00-$30.00/hour. This position also comes with a Company Truck and Cell Phone.

Successful candidates for this role must be available to work an 8 to 10 hour shifts during our busy season from May to September. Rotating weekend coverage (on call) and some nights call work on occasion.

Georgia-Pacific Corrugated Mechanical Packaging will provide extensive training for this position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, risk of electrical shock, noise, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

What You Will Do In Your Role

• Fabricating, welding, light plumbing
• Avoids down-time and reacts with urgency to any problems that arise
• Performs machine changeovers as required
• Changes and repairs motors, chains and gears when required
• Communicates with machine operators and supervisor
• Provides service to external customers, with a focus on providing a positive customer experience
• Performs other duties and assists others in the department as needed
• Checks to make sure all guards are in place
• Lubes all motors and gear boxes according to schedule
• Performs all other Preventive Maintenance according to schedule
• Maintains accurate maintenance records
• Uses computer for record keeping
• Attends and participates in departmental safety meetings and training
• Understands the safety requirements that pertain to the job
• Follows the hazardous materials safety procedures when choosing/mixing cleaning solutions
• Ensures that all personnel working/passing around their equipment does so in a safe manner

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

• Related mechanical experience and/or training
• Valid Driver’s License with clean DMV record
• Must be able to work on call rotating schedule which require night and weekends calls

What Will Put You Ahead

• Combination of trade school/certificate education and experience
• Possess ample electrical knowledge, and able to trouble shoot on the fly
• Understands PLCs, air compressors and pneumatics
• Works with little or no supervision
• Ability to learn computerized glue systems
